The project:

Our client in the Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain and Storage sector, is seeking an experienced Security Project Manager (AWS & Cloud Security) to strengthen their team.

Key Responsibilities

Security Project Leadership

• Lead end-to-end security projects across AWS environments (planning, execution, monitoring, reporting).
• Define project scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (Cloud, Infra, SOC, DevOps, Compliance).
• Ensure alignment between security architecture guidelines and project delivery.
• Provide structured reporting to management and governance committees.

Cloud Security & AWS Governance

Identity & Access Management

• Oversee IAM governance initiatives (roles, policies, least-privilege models).
• Coordinate implementation of identity controls, access reviews, and privilege management.
• Ensure IAM policies align with enterprise security standards and compliance frameworks.

Storage & Backup Security

• Lead initiatives related to secure cloud storage (S3, EBS, EFS).
• Ensure encryption at rest and in transit (KMS integration).
• Coordinate backup and disaster recovery strategies (cross-region replication, lifecycle policies).
• Validate resilience and recovery testing processes.

Network & Application Protection

• Manage implementation and optimization of AWS WAF and Shield protections.
• Oversee secure VPC architecture alignment with security requirements.
• Coordinate mitigation actions following vulnerability assessments or security incidents.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure projects comply with internal security policies and external frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, DORA, etc.).
• Perform risk assessments and ensure remediation plans are executed.
• Coordinate audit preparation and evidence collection for cloud security controls.
• Maintain security documentation, standards, and reporting dashboards.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

• Support implementation of security automation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation).
• Ensure security controls are integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Promote automation-first practices for permission management, backup validation, and compliance monitoring.

Is this you?

Required Experience

• 5–8+ years of experience in IT project management with strong exposure to security topics.
• Proven experience managing cloud security projects in AWS environments.
• Experience coordinating infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams.
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT governance and operational environments.

Technical Knowledge

Good understanding of AWS services including:

• IAM (roles, policies, access governance)
• S3, EBS, EFS (secure storage practices)
• KMS (encryption management)
• AWS Backup strategies
• WAF, Shield
• CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty (monitoring & compliance)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation).
• Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies.
• Knowledge of security risk management and compliance requirements.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Structured and risk-aware mindset.
• Ability to translate technical security concepts into clear project plans.
• Comfortable interacting with C-level, architects, and operational teams.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and delivery-focused.
